Vintage Hungarian Folk Keepsake Box w/ Claw Feet This trinket casket is entirely carved by hand and sits on four paw feet. The original pink silk lining was designed to cushion keepsakes, jewelry, medals, letters, or devotional objects. Boxes like this became popular throughout Hungary and neighboring regions during the first half of the twentieth century. Produced by village woodcarvers and small family workshops that adapted traditional folk carving after World War II. The floral ornaments reflect motifs found in Transdanubia and Transylvania.

Condition: Very good vintage condition. Original silk lining remains intact with expected age-related wrinkling and light wear. Wood shows minor surface wear and small handling marks consistent with age. Hinges operate properly and the lid opens and closes smoothly. Paws have some movement.
